Hiring the right web site designer is crucial if you do not have the time and energy to do it yourself. There are questions that you need to ask before hiring him or her like. Here are a few:
1) How much experience do you have?
2) What programming languages do you know?
3) Do you use flash in your sites?
4) Is search engine optimization included in the price? ( this one is VERY important)
5) Will you show me a mock up before you begin building?
6) How many revisions do I get?

Building a website should be the least of your concerns. 90% of your efforts should be in marketing your site and your products. The rest, to the extent of your budget, should be left to the experts.
